I develop and deliver training on how to conduct research and evaluation. Each year I deliver at least 8 training courses for the Social Research Association on the ethical , methodological and other considerations around doing research or evaluation with children and young people .
Because of covid-19 these have been converted to online interactive courses. Feedback has been excellent to date.
Courses are designed for both those new to research and for experienced researchers, who want to develop their skills further and better understand the main considerations, challenges and practical aspects when working with a younger age group.
“The course was really interesting and engaging with a good variety of whole group work, smaller groups and individual reflection … the tutors were great leads with a wide range of knowledge & expertise on the subject matter”

Over recent years I’ve created and delivered bespoke courses for the ONS, Action for Children, the Office of the Children’s Commissioner, Sustrans, Ipsos Mori and others.
I often train and support non-researchers to work as peer researchers
For example I trained and supported care leavers to conduct a national survey about support services; trained young people on Princes Trust programmes to evaluate their local programmes; trained families using SureStart, to evaluate the services they were using; and trained local people to conduct fieldwork for reseach on parks and green spaces in East London.
