I work by the highest ethical standards and the most recent data protection legislation (ie the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR) .
I contributed to the SRA’s most recent Ethics Guide; sit on the SRA’s Ethics Forum; teach on how to apply ethical principles when conducting research or evaluations; and wrote the ethics and methods chapters in the Guide to Research with Children and Young People (Brady and Graham, 2018) .
As well as being reflective in my practice, I discuss issues with colleagues and attend regular training, seminars and conferences to help keep up to date with current ethical and practical considerations.
I include a detailed ethical plan in each proposal. This balances ethical principles with the context and practical circumstances of each project, so that everyone is protected and the plan is proportionate.
My work is covered by professional indemnity and public and product liability insurance.
